I think it's probably better to list the ones I _haven't_ read:

  • They'd Rather Be Right (aka: The Forever Machine) by Mark Clifton and Frank Riley (1955)
  • The Big Time by Fritz Leiber (1958)
  • A Case of Conscience by James Blish (1959)
  • The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick (1963)
  • Here Gather the Stars (aka: Way Station) by Clifford D. Simak (1964)
  • Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang by Kate Wilhelm (1977)
  • Dreamsnake by Vonda McIntyre (1979)
  • Downbelow Station by C. J. Cherryh (1982)
  • Cyteen by C. J. Cherryh (1989)
  • Hyperion by Dan Simmons (1990)
  • Doomsday Book by Connie Willis1 (co-winner, 1993)
  • To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis (1999)
  • American Gods by Neil Gaiman (2002)
  • Hominids by Robert J. Sawyer (2003)
  • Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold (2004)
  • Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke (2005)
  • The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon (2008)

So, of the 56 winners (56 years, two skips, two ties), I have read 39.
Not great, not shabby.

Followup: Turns out that we own four of the ones I haven't read.

Something for me to do over the next week's worth of evenings.... ;-)

I've read all three of the retro Hugos as well.

Marshall

Oh yeah - the retro ones. I've read those, too ;-)

Surprisingly, I have read all of this years' nominees, with the exception of the Gaiman one. Many more than most of the recent nominees.

Time to do some reading, while baseball is on hiatus.
