Have you ever used the screen of your cell phone or iPod as a flashlight? Surgeons in Argentina used cell phone light to finish a surgery when the operating room lights failed.

I do it all the time, but I am not sure that I would want my surgeon to finish my surgery that way.
Say hello to all...

I use my cell phone as a flashlight rather frequently. In fact, the Danger hiptop has a hidden "flashlight mode" feature just for this. (From the jump screen, hit jump+F.)
But the odd thing about this story: why the heck didn't the operating room have battery backup light? In the US these are required by law even in animal hospitals. My dad's a vet, I remember buying the light when he started his clinic. Power mains aren't trustworthy and neither are gas-powered generators.
