Last night's Edmonton-San Jose NHL playoff game featured an incredible defensive stand by San Jose. The Sharks had two players in the penalty box, which gave Edmonton a 5-3 advantage for 1 minute, 41 seconds. Then the fun began: two of the three Sharks skaters broke their sticks and had to play stickless. Incredibly, the Sharks stopped Edmonton until the penalties were over. San Jose coach Ron Wilson said it reminded him of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:
"Body parts were falling off. No sticks. That was unbelievable effort.''
Three seconds after the penalties ended, Edmonton scored.
