It's been hard times for Star Trek lately -- there's no series on the air, and the last movie was not very successful. But now there's a report that Star Trek is coming back, with a new movie to be directed by J.J. Abrams, the producer of Lost and Alias. Live again and prosper!
wasn't there supposed to be some "cadet" version of the show? i also heard they were going to do the original crew with new actors taking off where the original series left off… someone other than shatner to play kirk?!?!? spock not portrayed by nimoy?!?!? imagine that.

Its time for that franchise to be reinvented and on the big screen;the last television effort was a disaster because Scott Backula was written as a boy scout who never made admttable mistakes wwith his initial alien contacts which should have been expected and delt withdo an acadeny movie with Matt Damon as Kirk Spocks are dime a dozen. damon must have an "attitude" and confidence galore
